Where has the time gone? && Cross Stitch Progress!!

Well Hello Lovelies!
It has been a couple of months a while since I’ve posted last! I do apologize. Who knew American History, Beginning Algebra, and Mommy-Hood could be so time-consuming? Wait… don’t answer that!

American History to 1877, if you read my last post you’ll know I was a little discouraged by the class, has not exactly taken the up-hill turn I was hoping for. In these short 6 weeks, we have discussed many topics: Columbus, Cortez and the Mayan Empire, Settling of North America, The settling of the colonies, The French & Indian War, The Stamp Act, Boston Massacre, Revolutionary War, Slavery, The Trail of Tears, and So much more! UGH!! Not a whole lot of happiness, BUT on the o-so positive side, I am making an A in the class! It’s all very interesting, a lot of sad, some inspiring, and a great deal of violence. But on to happier things yes?

My Cross Stitch!! I’m excited to show you the progress I’ve made! What do you think? Looking more distinguishable?
As I add each tiny little X I feel as if it’s going to be a colorful bunch of mumbo jumbo. And don’t get me wrong, at the time it is, but when I put it down and come back to it… Voila! It actually makes sense! Needless to say I’m super excited to the features coming together, and I hope I’m sure my Aunt will love it!

I am hoping to start blogging more regularly for those of you who are new, and or have been keeping up with my craziness! SO please feel free to comment and let me know if you’ve had any American History discouragements/encouragements or if you want to describe your Voila moments!
Thanks for stopping by!

American History!?!? and Crazy Face Cross Stitch!

Hello Lovelies!
These past couple weeks have been positively busy: a little School “pre-reading”, some more crazy face cross stitching, and as always being Mommy!

Have you ever taken a College level History class? So far, in my journey towards degree completion, I have taken 4 History classes: Arts & Ideas I, Arts & Ideas II, Western Civilization I, and Western Civilization II. Arts & Ideas I and Arts & Ideas II are History classes that teach how Art has progressed, altered, and shaped History as a whole. My passion is art, so I LOVED it! Western Civilization I & II are History Classes describing the European Continent and its History essentially. I happen to love the Greek era and the Renaissance movement: I loved these classes! I will be now taking American History to 1877. I actually not incredibly excited about this.

If you’re not into History I apologize for boring you for a little bit; if you are into History please feel free to contribute! I’ve been “pre-reading” before class actually starts from my text book: “Give Me Liberty! Third edition By Eric Foner”. The first chapter illustrates the beginning of Christopher Columbus’s discovery, details of both Native Northern and Southern Americans (referred to as “Native American Indians” in the book which irks me) and the differences in beliefs of both Europeans and Native Americans. Europeans in their religious beliefs were very misguided in my opinion; I am not saying religion is misguided, I should be clear there, but the Europeans were misguided in their need to “rehabilitate” another culture’s religious viewpoints.  BAH! I digress… the POSITIVE of all this is I am only 4 classes away from a degree, and who knows maybe I can learn more about the Country I love (despite our very discouraging beginning)!

CROSS STITCHING!! What do you think??
It’s beginning to look more like a face, yes? I am so excited; I’m missing four colors hints the random holes not colored in. I have ordered the colors from www.EverythingCrossStitch.com and I’m hoping to receive them soon! If you can’t find the colors you need at your local craft store, but I recommend shopping there first to help your local business, they have everything cross stitch (ha, as if the name wasn’t obvious!). I am so excited to see this completed!!
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you are having a happy spring!

A in Art && Crazy Cross-Stitch Progress

Positively 24
Welcome Back! I have been crazy busy with school, and I’m proud to announce… *drum roll please*
I received an A in my Art Appreciation Class!!

That means only 6 more classes to go and I have my Associates! I am so excited!!
My biggest exclamation for school, is after I’ve gotten my Associates in General Studies, I am then off to the main campus. At the main campus I will begin working on my Bachelor’s in Graphic Design. Classes Include: Painting, Drawing, Photography, Jewelry Making, Pottery, Renaissance Art History, 18th century European Art History, Greek Art History, Adobe, Web Design, Graphic Design (obviously) etc. etc. Ahh!! So, yeah those sound like fly-by classes, and I’m positive it will be ten time more stressful than it sounds. BUT!! AHH!!! I’m so excited anyways!! Comparing my love of art to my adequate disinterest in math is basically comparing my love for pie and my love for bee stings. That MIGHT be a little dramatic, but I’m sticking by it. Now that you’ve read about my over-enthusiastic love for art, let’s move on shall we?

My second positive amount of accomplishment: Cross-Stitching!
Do you recall that last post of those few bits of colors? Well, I have gotten a bit further… If you’re anything like my house hold you might be thinking “creepy Cyclopes” or “umm…” BUT! It’s getting there! Yeah I don’t have much in ways of defense, because I agree, but that’s beside the point. It’s kind of “face-ish” right? I can at least say I’m positive that it’s coming along!

Last but not least… fun/random new hobby to try: Domino Tricks
Have you seen these things online or tried them? It’s where you stand them all up in a line and knock them down (sounds pretty self-explanatory, but I’ve had to explain this). There are A LOT of cool videos on YouTube. My little Handsome and I were playing dominos, and I showed him how Mommy could do it. Afterwards I had to show him a YouTube video where they ACTUALLY do it the right way.  Then of course I had to purchase some online to try it out. Do you ever do that? Get the DIY bug, doesn’t matter if it’s a skill, hobby, Pinterest, or game… if I see it, it looks cool, and rather inexpensive: I have to get my hands on it! Once my dominoes come in the mail (yes I am such a kid lol) please look forward to what I come up with!

Positivity for this Week:
1.    A in my class!!
2.    Cross Stitch Progress
3.    Switched TV providers
4.    Purchased Dominoes!

Are you in Graphic Design, Cross-Stitch, or have Domino Tricks to share? Feel free to comment!! Or comment just because!

I'm cross stitchin'!

Hello lovelies!
I have some Positives to share with you today!!

I have made progress on my cross stitch project! I know you must be looking at that and thinking… umm… sure you have? But! I really have!
My Aunt’s mother passed away a week before my birthday, and as can be expected, she’s having a hard time with it. I was thinking to cheer her up, I’m going to make a cross-stitched pillow of her Mother, something she can hold and that will last a lot longer than a picture. A gift that will really have meaning, but any who…on a happier note: I’ll show you my progression as I go, and hopefully it will make more sense as I go along!
If you want to create your own cross-stitch (or crochet, knitting, pixelated etc.) patterns, just got to www.pic2pat.com! The site is pretty self-explanatory, and it’s awesome to make patterns from your own pictures, plus… it’s FREE!! I’m not getting paid to blog about them, and I will NOT recommend a product, website, or technique unless I’ve tried it and I use it! I love the simplicity they provide and so far the patterns are accurate!

Some of my other positives for the week:
1.    My car is officially inspected
2.    Plates renewed
3.    Property taxes paid!!
Crazy week and lots accomplished!!

Please feel free to share anything you’ve done this week, patterns you’ve created, or pattern creating websites you use!
Thanks for coming by!!

Positivety is Just Another Frame of Mind

Welcome to Positively 24!
My name is Danielle Kristine, owner of No Way Mommy Crafts (Etsy) and mommy of a handsome 3 year old. I’ve started Positively 24 to share ME with you!
I am now 24 years old, and that’s always been a scary age to me. 24 has always been that “destination deadline” age for me growing up.

My thoughts were at 24 you’re supposed to...
1.    Have your bachelor’s degree... aka you’re supposed to have a career path
2.    You’re supposed to be married, or at least be planning your wedding
3.    You’re supposed to know your religious beliefs and be fully connected with your religious choice
4.    Be grown up

I don’t have my bachelor’s degree; I only have 6 more classes until my Associates degree. I am not married, or even engaged; but, I’ve been in long-term relationship of 3 years with my boyfriend. I am not founded in any particular religious belief, I mean I know I love God, but I hate the religious shield that people use for their hatred and I don’t want to be that person. I’m not grown up, O GOLLY! Ha!! I still love to have fun!! Now, now do not get me wrong, I don’t party or do life risking things. But I’m not obsessed with money or out-doing my coworkers for that goal of CEO.

My birthday was 2 days ago and I woke up 24 years old, and GUESS WHAT!! The world didn’t fall down, the sky is still relatively blue (being winter it’s really hit and miss!) and I mean I didn’t see Chicken Little come out and make any proclamations! So, it started to occur to me when nobody yelled at me on the streets that my life isn’t by the books, that maybe it’s okay to be 24 and still confused on life!

I’m not crazy, well okay… maybe just a little… but! I know these are all pre-misconceptions in my head. I have two very awesome Parents who support me in the choices I make, I have an Amazing boyfriend who will someday be my Amazing husband, I have a gorgeous/awesome best friend who has stuck it out with me for 12 years now, I'm working towards a career (steps at a time), and the MOST IMPORTANT person in my life is healthy and happy: My Handsome lil Man! Positively 24 is going to be place to embrace who I am, where I am in life, and hopefully help you do the same!

Welcome to Positively 24… where Positivity is just Another Frame of Mind!
